The Target Board

How it works

A real whiteboard for your priorities, and a reminder that shows you a photo of it. Here’s exactly what happens, step by step.

Overview

  1. Step 1: Write it

Put this week’s priorities on your physical board, in your own handwriting.

  2. Step 2: Snap it

Take a photo of the board on the website. It’s saved privately to your account.

  3. Step 3: Get a reminder

Choose when you’d like a nudge. Your browser shows a notification at that time.

  4. Step 4: Tap to see it

The reminder opens the photo you saved, so your priorities are right in front of you.

1. Use the physical board

  • Keep it short: three to five priorities is plenty.
  • Put the board somewhere you’ll pass every day — by your desk, the fridge or the front door.
  • Wipe and rewrite whenever your week changes.

2. Photograph your board

  • Sign in and open Board photo in your dashboard.
  • Choose Take photo to use your camera, or Choose a photo to pick one you already took.
  • Straighten or crop it if you like, then check the preview.
  • Camera access is only requested when you choose Take photo.

3. Save the photo

  • Select Save board photo. It’s stored privately in your account — there’s no public link to it.
  • Your browser shrinks the image before upload, which also strips location data.
  • You keep one current photo. Saving a new one replaces the old one.

4. Set a reminder

  • Open Reminders and choose Turn on notifications. Your browser asks for permission.
  • Pick a time, which days, and your time zone (we detect it for you).
  • Choose what the reminder opens: your saved board photo or your digital board.
  • You can pause, change or delete reminders whenever you like.

5. Tap the reminder

  • At the chosen time you get a notification on each device where you turned notifications on.
  • Tapping it opens the website at your board photo (or digital board). If you’re signed out, you’ll sign in first.
  • The notification itself never contains your tasks or your photo.

6. Update the photo when the board changes

  • The website doesn’t see your physical board. It shows the last photo you saved.
  • After you rewrite your board, take a new photo so your reminders show the current version.

The free digital board

  • Create a free account to save your board to your account.
  • Add a task, edit it, mark it complete (or not), reorder and delete.
  • Your first three open tasks are shown as your current focus.
  • Set a reminder that opens your digital board.
  • Not ready for an account? Try the board in your browser. That version is stored only on that device.
